I hadn’t bought a brand-new house before and I’d never even heard of Stewart Milne... but I thought buying new would be easier than moving into an older house, especially as we were having to move our business too, and I wasn’t wrong. There’s so much space Our house is on split levels over three floors. It’s really nicely laid out with the living area on one floor, the master bedroom on the next and three further bedrooms on the top floor. There’s lots of space, which is what we were looking for. You get a better quality of finish We visited other sites but Ardgowan Rise just seemed better. It has a better quality of finish; there’s more space between the houses. It’s perfect for our needs It’s close to work so I’m not travelling long distances. It’s also great for my 12-year old daughter, who has settled in well and loves the school. The staff are friendly too, which helps Barbara, the sales lady, is always friendly and pleased to see you and based on our experience of house hunting elsewhere that’s not always the case! Mark the site manager is very approachable as well. Nothing is too much trouble and you feel you can approach them at any time. Even when little things go wrong, they’ve been prompt and quick to sort things out. I would recommend Stewart Milne without question I would definitely recommend Stewart Milne because for us it’s been a positive experience. Overall, it’s been pretty good. That’s why I’d recommend.

Having bought a new build previously, I didn’t want to be in the same situation again where, once they’ve got your money, you’re endlessly chasing for the snagging to be done… which is why I went with Stewart Milne. A colleague had already bought on Ardgowan Rise and said how good their customer service is; and it is. We’re really pleased with what we’ve got for our money. We especially like the fact that the house is split level. We’d bought off plan and it was only when walking in for the first time that we really got a sense of what it’s like. We were actually even more impressed with what we’ve got after we moved in. We’ve got a house for the future. It’s got four bedrooms; it’s a place for having kids. We’re looking forward to growing into it. For me the location is ideal. It’s really quiet, but you’re only ten minutes up the road from all the facilities. You feel in the countryside almost. It’s ideal for me. I like coming home to the fact that it’s dead quiet. Where I lived before it was always noisy. Dealing with Barbara, the sales woman, and Mark, the site manager, nothing was a hassle. We had the option to change things, even quite late on in the build. We’d ask and Barbara would say, ‘I’ll see what I can do’. Nine times out of ten, it was changed. Mark too, you’d phone him up to sort something out and someone would come round really quickly. Even now, every week he touches base to check everything’s alright. I would definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes because, compared to my experience of buying a new build last time, it’s been so different. Their customer service is so much better. That’s why I would recommend.

If you’d said to me when we were looking at the show home that we’d have moved in to Ardgowan Rise in less than four weeks, I would never have believed you... but Stewart Milne were incredibly efficient; we took advantage of their very fair part exchange offer and they even facilitated the legal and financial arrangements. We’re really pleased with our house. It works well for us and the layout and size of the rooms are great. Our garden, especially, is a generous size for a new build. We’ve gone for the traditional two-storey and have a large kitchen/ breakfast room as well as a separate dining room. We have a lovely family bathroom and both the master and guest bedrooms are en suite. Ardgowan Rise is a lovely estate to live in. There is lots of space between the plots and the landscaping to the front of the houses has been done really tastefully. Although it is a new estate it already looks established. It’s also within easy reach of the town centre as well as being right on the coast. Its close proximity to the railway station means that there’s easy access to Glasgow. You can be in the heart of the city in less than an hour and yet you’re right on the coast. The staff were really helpful and quick to get things sorted out for us, nothing was too much trouble. And now that we’re living here, even though there’s building work going on, it’s barely noticeable. The way that the homes have been released means it isn’t intrusive. Even when there is work going on at the weekend we’re not disturbed by it because the building access is well away from the homes that are already occupied. The roads are even cleaned every single day so there’s no risk of dust or mud being brought into the house. I would certainly recommend Stewart Milne, because all the expectations that we had about living here have been met. We’re really pleased that we made the move. That’s why I would recommend.
