Find your new home in Gorebridge
Gorebridge is a former mining village in Midlothian, Scotland. The village gets its name from the bridge across the River Gore, a tributary of the South Esk. It was the home of Scotland's first gunpowder mill, at the Gore Water, that started operating in 1794.
There is plenty to do near Gorebridge for families, including the Gore Glen Woodland Park which is perfect for a relaxing day out, and Vogrie Country Park where you can play a relaxing round of golf, or let the kids run free in the adventure play area.
- Gorebridge has an annual Gala Day which always takes place on the 3rd Saturday in June. This is much like a town fair, with rides and games. The gala day has a tradition of picking a Town King and Queen from the primary schools.
- Gorebridge's local football team is juniors Arniston Rangers who play home games at Newbyres Park.
