Local business owners, Jamie Brown and Tom Reid, were over the moon when they finally found their perfect home at Stewart Milne Homes’ highly sought-after Charleston community in Cove.
The busy couple, who own a local café and pet boutique, needed a place they could relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life whilst providing enough room for their brood of adorable housemates, dachshunds Gavin and Linda and rescue mini podenco, Jose.
The young professionals were living in a tenement flat in Aberdeen city centre and they wanted to move to a home with a garden and more space and they found that – and a whole lot more – with the two bedroom Aversley at Charleston.
Jamie said: “Initially we hadn’t considered a new build however with the challenges of the Aberdeen property market we realised that this would be the best way to secure our dream home and Stewart Milne Homes make the process so simple and stress free.
“Our flat had been up for sale for a year with no success and part exchange meant that the dream of moving could finally become a reality.”
For Jamie and Tom the toughest decision became which development to choose with Charleston and Countesswells being the top contenders. The couple ultimately selected Charleston in Cove thanks to the coastal location and the appeal of the Aversley which was perfect for their needs.
Jamie added: “The part exchange process was really straightforward so we could focus on planning how to really make the home our own. With such busy lives peace and quiet was something we didn’t want to skimp on, so moving our bedroom to the back of the house meant that we made the most of the location.
“As well as two bedrooms there is also a box room which we transformed into our walk-in wardrobes which was a dream come true and the extra space makes all the difference.
“We have also been so impressed by the quality and the high level of specification which were and we are so proud to call it home.”
The spacious back garden added to the appeal of the home and is ideal for the couple’s dogs who also enjoy walks along the coastal paths and woodland walks.
Jamie added: “Linda, Gavin and Jose just love to run and the many walking routes around the neighbourhood are perfect as they can enjoy unbounded freedom.
“Originally we wanted to move a bit further out however we realised that this wasn’t practical and the newly open AWPR means that we can enjoy a coastal location and still be within easy reach of work and the city centre.
“This really is our perfect home and is the ideal place to relax after a day of work or on the weekends. By opening the French doors to the garden you really get a sense of the outdoors and it’s so quiet and peaceful which is a change after living in the city centre.”
