Mr Watt
As first time buyers buying off plan was a little worrying. We couldn’t view the physical house and had only seen the layout on paper... But it has worked out well and I would say that I would buy off plan again. We spent a lot of time and effort choosing our home, so the best aspect was when we got the keys and walked up to our new home and saw it for the first time. The location suited us now and for the future The Broadshade development suited us because it was close to my place of work and we particularly wanted to be near the city. We are planning for the future and felt it would be suitable for a family. We found helpful staff and a smooth buying process Stewart Milne’s sales representatives have been very helpful; they answered all of our questions. I would recommend them because we have had no problems and everything went smoothly.
Mr Simpson
Having never purchased a new house before it was slightly disconcerting to buy something before it was built and I had concerns about the size of the finished house... But it’s actually bigger than I’d imagined and we are pleased with our new home. We were looking for more space and we’ve got it. We chose our property because it was a corner plot and because of the space it offered; it has a good sized garden. We were looking to get a bit more space and we’ve definitely got that. We also really like the location of the development. The onsite staff were helpful throughout the process. The staff on site were excellent in sorting out the snagging list we had after moving in and they went about it quickly. In fact the help we’ve had from Stewart Milne all the way through the process has been good. It’s been an excellent service. Stewart Milne’s Assured Sale was reassuring. When it came to selling our old house it was good to know we had the back up of Stewart Milne’s Assured Sale. In the end we were able to sell our house privately, but to know that Stewart Milne would have bought it if we hadn’t secured a sale was reassuring. I would recommend Stewart Milne for their customer service. I would definitely recommend Stewart Milne on the basis of their customer service and because we’re happy with our house and the space we’ve got. Overall we’ve been happy with everything.
Mr McEwan
We hadn’t purchased a new build house before and we had concerns that the finish and construction wouldn’t be up to our standards... Since moving, I’ve completely changed my mind. We’ve had no major problems and the quality of the build has exceeded my expectations. The layout of the house and size of the garden impressed us Our new home gave us a space that we could afford. It was the layout of the property that we liked and I was impressed with the size of the back garden. Many of the alternatives that were similarly priced from other developers were quite small. We chose Broadshade for its splendid views and countryside location The location was one of the main reasons we chose to move here. I really liked the proximity to the countryside and it seemed to be in an uncrowded area without feeling isolated. I also like the design of the street because the houses are all slightly different so it’s not like one of these generic streets. It doesn’t give you that 'Butlins' feeling. Stewart Milne provide a prompt and personal service One other concern we had before moving in was that if we did have any problems it would be difficult to have those resolved, but whenever we have had any snagging issues they have been addressed very quickly. We also really liked the more personal service that Stewart Milne provided by giving us a tour around the house before we moved in. Throughout the entire process we have felt comfortable and it has been a good experience enhanced by friendly and professional sales and after-sales staff.
A ‘very satisfied’ Broadshade customer
I’ve known builders who would soon as hide from you rather than help you... but fortunately that’s not the case with Stewart Milne. We’re thoroughly delighted with our new home; it couldn’t be nicer. We really like the layout, especially the lounge. It’s got a bay window and is a nice size, not too small. It’s right for our needs. We’ve got two en-suites as well, along with a bathroom, and a nice-sized kitchen too. It ticked all the boxes in what we were looking for in a family home. From first going into the show room and meeting the sales advisor, it’s just been very easy. The sales girl was really enthusiastic for us. When I explained our circumstances, there was a definite, ‘Yes, we can’ attitude. If she hadn’t been interested I would have turned away there and then. I think that first port of call is so important and her being enthusiastic really helped. Having said that, Stewart Milne are also very good with their after-sales. They phone you and ask if you have any problems. They’re there to help with anything that needs to be addressed. They don’t just take your money and leave you; they’re very helpful, much more so than other home builders in my experience. We’d had our house up for sale for two months and in the end sold our house as a part exchange, which was a really good option. It gave us peace of mind. In fact, one of the best bits of buying from Stewart Milne was the ease with which they dealt with the paperwork. Everything has just been very easy. When I walked into our new home it was beautifully clean; it was sparkling. I’ve moved into two new homes before and had to wash the floors, clean everything – and all this before getting unpacked; but not this time. They say the house will be sparkle cleaned and they really mean it. It was sparkling! I would definitely recommend Stewart Milne, especially if you are already a homeowner with a house to sell. They’re a good organisation to approach to get the ball rolling, which is why I’d recommend them.

We’d never bought a new home before, and whilst we had no concerns as such, Stewart Milne had to prove to us that it would be a positive experience... we felt fairly neutral beforehand and were there to be convinced, and I have to say that the whole experience has been very positive. Overall we are very satisfied with our transaction with Stewart Milne. Their customer service is very good. Jackie Macpherson, the sales advisor whom we dealt with, was very keen and willing to help. I liked that she was able to answer knowledgeably any questions we had and within the timeframe that we needed. In fact, the whole experience, from the lead-up to introducing me to the property and walking around on the day itself was very good. Greg, the site manager, has been very good in his explanation of the house and the after-care that’s needed, as well as the services that are available to us. Their after-sales is very good as well. I think you get value for money for the property size and for the quality of the build. I’ve got all the bedrooms I need, plus an additional study room, which is what I wanted; it suits all our requirements. In fact, I’ve been impressed with the quality of the property. There have been very few snags. I would definitely recommend Stewart Milne because of the whole experience: the quality of the build, the site manager and the customer services team. That’s why I would recommend.

All too often, new housing developments can make you feel as if you’re hemmed in, with not enough space between you and your neighbour... not here at Broadshade, though. There’s plenty of space; it’s been nicely laid out. Having come from the countryside to be closer to the town, we still wanted that feeling of being out in the open, which, with the village green just opposite us, is what we’ve got. The house is a good size… and good value for money We chose the Kingsmoor, which gave us the most space relative to cost. It has a better layout, especially upstairs, than other houses we’d seen in a similar price bracket. With three children, we needed a five-bedroomed house which would afford us four good-sized bedrooms. It’s definitely the best layout we’ve seen. Dealing with Stewart Milne, everything was very straightforward Everything was very straightforward. That’s probably what stands out for me the most in my dealings with Stewart Milne. Jackie, the sales person, made everything easy and kept us right on track with what we had to do. The customer care since moving in has been good as well. The freedom just to move in and live Being a new build, we knew we’d have no maintenance issues or any problems. We could just move in and live there straightaway. We didn’t have to worry about putting in our own fixtures and fittings. Things like carpets, we just chose them and they were laid. It was all so easy. I would definitely recommend Stewart Milne I would definitely recommend Stewart Milne, just because it’s been so straightforward. Anybody looking to buy a new house would be fine as the houses are a good size and the development’s nice too. That’s what makes it for me and is why I would recommend.
