“LEIGH GREEN IS LOVELY, QUIET AND PEACEFUL, YET CLOSE TO THE TOWN CENTRE; WE HAVE THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS…”
It’s a small, intimate development…
We’re in a rural location, surrounded by fields, with a lovely view. The green at the front of the house is beautiful and will be a wonderful place for our children to play. The general design of the houses makes the estate really pretty. There are features like bay windows, as well as nice details like the lintels above them and the little canopies above the front doors which give them more character than modern houses usually have. The houses are light and airy and with the fields there is a great feeling of space.
Access to town and country…
The main selling point is the fields at the rear of the property and the hills in the distance; they really have the ‘wow’ factor. There is a public footpath a couple of streets down from us which is parallel to the field so we can go up to the field beyond it to see the row of houses in the distance. We can also walk to the town centre in 10 minutes and it has all of the shops we need. We normally travel by car, but there are also convenient bus stops near to the development if we need them.
It’s the friendliest place I’ve ever lived…
I’ve got to know a lot of neighbours, more so because it’s such a small development and people are making the effort. We have our own community already and the people are very welcoming.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes…
…Because the quality and design of the homes are good.

When I wake up in the morning I have a lovely view to welcome me, and the location of Leigh Green is in an ideal position…
I like that it’s a small estate
There are only 39 homes here, which makes it quite a small, friendly estate. All of the people who moved in up to now have become friends and that’s the one thing that has become apparent. We all stop to say “hello” and talk to one another, and this comes with the new development. We’re in and out of each other’s houses quite frequently, looking at things the other is doing, whether decorating, comparing layouts or having a coffee or a beer. Everyone is as excited as I am to be here so it makes for nice atmosphere.
It’s the view at the back of the fields and the fact that I’m not overlooked at all
There are fields, trees and hills in the distance that I get with living in my home; it’s all countryside. I’m not overlooked by any other houses either and I have green space in front of me. I think I’ve got the best of both worlds in that I live ½ a mile from the town centre and that I’m also in the middle of the countryside. The country lanes leading to the canals allow me to go for quite a pleasant jog alongside the disused railway track and the canal.
The location means I’ve easy access to work
The development is about a mile from the M6, which means it’s easy for me to wake up in the morning and get on to the motorway for work. I don’t have to drive in to the town, and if I want to go to Waitrose, the bank or post office, or for lunch or coffee, then they’re within walking distance. I don’t think I could think of a better location to live.
I would definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes…
…Because of the whole experience I’ve had with them.
