The Gardens at Crathes fits the bill for the Raeside Family

A family home in a stunning location close to good schools was top of the wish list for Brett and Rona Raeside when they began to consider moving home.

A family home in a stunning location close to good schools was top of the wish list for Brett and Rona Raeside when they began to consider moving home.

The couple – who have a toddler son, Ruairidh – were keen on the Banchory area and decided to go for a drive to see what was available.

Rona explained: “Banchory is a beautiful part of the world and we knew that there are great schools which was a very important consideration for our son.

“We looked around the area and walked along the Deeside line and when we saw The Gardens from Stewart Milne Homes we immediately knew that we wanted to live there.

“Once we found out that part exchange was available, we also knew that our dream home could become a reality. We hadn’t even put our house on the market, but this made it a very straightforward way to move.”

With a discerning collection of homes available at The Gardens, the couple were spoiled for choice and after careful consideration selected the four bedroom Gordon. The family reserved their home in July 2018 and were able to move in just a month later.

Rona said: “We were immediately drawn to the Gordon as it was so spacious and so much thought and consideration had gone into every detail. It perfectly suits our needs and the layout is ideal for family living.”

The kitchen/breakfast/family room has already become the heart of the home and Rona explained that they spend most of their time there.

“It is just the perfect room for spending family time and it also leads directly to the rear garden which will be ideal as Ruairidh gets older.”

The room includes a feature semi-circular bay with floor to ceiling windows ensuring that the space is bright and filled with light and complements the high specification kitchen from Kitchens International. The practical side of life hasn’t been overlooked with a utility leading from the kitchen.

The ground floor houses the formal lounge with feature bay window as well as double doors leading to the dining room – perfect for entertaining. This level is completed with a study, WC and integral double garage which leads directly to the utility.

The luxury continues on the upper level which features four spacious bedrooms. The master has both a walk-in wardrobe and an en-suite and the guest bedroom also includes built-in wardrobes and an en-suite.

The quality of the homes is matched by the stunning setting with views along the Dee Valley and into the Cairngorm mountains. There is also a strong community feel at The Gardens and Rona explained that this has been important in settling into a new area.

She said: “The area is lovely and there is so much to do from the Parkrun at Crathes Castle to beautiful walks and a wide selection of local restaurants and cafes.

“We have also been very lucky that everyone has been so welcoming. Our neighbours have invited us to their get togethers and it has been a great way to get to know people. There are also lots of families who too have young children which will be great as Ruairidh grows up.
