“Winterley Gardens feels like a quiet and peaceful, rural village, not like a new development with millions of houses everywhere you look.”
“It has the nice finishing touches that you don’t usually expect.”
It certainly doesn’t feel like all the houses are on top of each other, and they’ve taken the time to add green space to the development. There’s a park going through the back, a small playground, plenty of flower beds and all the trees have been left at the front of the development. The communal space is quite nice, and we feel like we’re part of the village as they’ve connected us to the bridge here. It’s nice and quiet and everybody is friendly.
“Initially, we were worried because we’d heard horror stories about new build houses, but we didn’t have any problems at all.”
A quick inspection was done and what was important was that we felt like we were listened to. Although there were a few small issues that popped up, they were dealt with effectively. Everything was sorted out really quickly.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because I think the whole process was hassle free and the house quality against other developers is better than what we have seen.
“I didn’t have any concerns; after we’d been to the show room and met the staff, I felt at ease with Stewart Milne Homes.”
“Our main reason for moving was that I was commuting 70 miles a day, and this was closer, but once we started researching different developments Regency Place stood out for us.”
I love the attractive, modern look of the houses with the mixture of bricks and wood cladding on the front of the houses. Once everything is done, we will have everything we need here within Regency Place. My kids already use the play parks nearby, and there are plans for schools and shops, like a grocery store and hairdressers. There may even be a hotel here. They’re making it very convenient and easy to live in Regency Place.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because the process was quick and easy, and they have nice homes.
“We have a two-bedroom house here, but I honestly wouldn’t want to leave should our family grow and expand because I feel really happy here.”
“It’s by far the nicest new build development I’ve seen around the area.”
Aesthetically it’s really appealing from the paved brickwork of the streets, to the greenery all around, to the beautiful park for the children. There is such attention to detail. The park itself stands out because they’ve done such a good job. There’s a lovely climbing frame, it’s set in sand and it’s all fenced in, so when I’m there with my two-year-old little boy we can go into the park, close the gate and I know he’ll be safe.
“It’s very picturesque and it’s quite exciting to live here.”
They’ve planned the layout of the development so you’re surrounded by your neighbours. There’s a community feel, as well as a feeling of safety, and I think it’s quite impressive that they’ve managed to build that considering it’s early days for the development. I can look outside my house and see a grassy area with trees and concrete benches, and surrounding the park there are lovely green areas and a little stream running through it with bridges. It’s marketed that the development will be expanding, and the primary school that will be in walking distance of our home will be finished in time for my boy to go to school. It’s a great place for families.
“When I moved in I was quite shocked at the high specification my house was finished in.”
I was happy that I didn’t have to pay extra for the beautiful wall to wall mirrors in the bathrooms and the built in wardrobes. I really feel that with Stewart Milne Homes you get value for money.
“I feel like this is a really up and coming area in Aberdeen and I think you get the best of both worlds.”
We’re only about a fifteen-minute drive from the city, but we’re also right next to the beautiful forest right across the road that I walk around with my little boy on his bike, so I feel like it’s country living as well as being convenient to an urban area.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because you get all the extras included so its hassle free. It is a lovely location and the staff are very helpful.
When I moved in, Dargavel Village was still work in progress. I never thought I would move into a house on a building site, but I have had absolutely no issues. If I need to get hold of anyone or need something fixed Stewart Milne Homes’ staff are right there. The builders also finish sharp at night, so it doesn’t impact our lives at all. There are three different house builders in the area and Stewart Milne Homes was the only one incorporating lots of landscaping and greenery which was very important to me.
We love the look of our home, inside and out. The quality of the build has a very high specification. It’s in the fittings and fixtures, in the kitchen and elsewhere. The doors are solid wood and the tiles are expensive looking and luxury. Having new appliances, a good number of bathrooms and efficient heating is great. I also like that every house isn’t the same. There are variations in the bricks used and different colour doors, so there’s a mix of styles and sizes. We’re in a horse shoe shape looking onto a green, so we don’t look directly onto other houses. There are a lot of walks around the development, there’s a particular one around the estate that takes you to the old village and further on into the countryside. We also have all the conveniences within walking distance, like restaurants, and we can easily catch a train in the station next to us.
I love the amount of greenery and landscaping in Dargavel Village, the overall finish is beautiful. Stewart Milne Homes specifically kept the old large trees on the site, it’s quite relaxing listening to the leaves blowing in the wind. About a two-minute walk from us, directly across from our house, is a lake lined with trees. In the opposite direction there are lovely fields where I like to take my dogs. The whole place has a real countryside feel to it. They haven’t only thought about the greenery in Dargavel Village, but the brickwork as well. There are a lot of boundary walls which most new builds just don’t have. They really add to the quality of the finish. I like the nice paving stones they have used and there are lots of little benches where you can stop and take a seat.
Being quite central to Aberdeen was a massive attraction of Charleston Cove. I wanted to be close to the city centre, but not close to the hustle and bustle. Everything is right on the doorstep and there’s a great community feel. There are quite a lot of modern shops together with a little Sainsbury’s, a hairdressers and a home shop. Charleston Cove has a New England feel to it; the wooden frontage on the houses with the stylish entrance doors make this place look different and modern.
Everything has been absolutely fantastic, from the part exchange and not having to sell our house, to moving in. It was just so easy from start to finish. There was no selling cost and there was only one viewing before my old house was sold. We’ve never had a brand new home before and we love having a new build. We could pick our kitchen, en-suite and carpets. With different designs of houses and a lot of well-maintained landscaped areas, it’s very attractive here. Some houses have been built partly with wooden cladding and others have a traditional brick design, but the grey colour detail makes everything come together. We’re far enough away from town, but still close enough to easily get there.
Den View is very modern, homely and family oriented. The whole site is bright and the white and the houses look clean and fresh. It has an open, green layout that’s safe; I can always see where my little one is playing.
We’re in the city but we feel like we’re in the country. We’ve got the best of both worlds here. We have the essentials like shops within walking distance. There’s a leisure complex that you can walk to in five to ten minutes. In the complex there’s an Asda, a hairdresser and a community centre. They’ve got mother and toddler groups, fitness groups and a church. It’s a busy little village. There are heaps of other places for us to walk and cycle to as a family. It’s one of those little villages where people can use woodland trails going off in different directions. We’ve been exploring ever since we got here. The cycle path going down to the park is convenient too and it’s all great to help you stay fit. Down a way there’s a little farm and our little one likes to see the sheep and cows. Living in a city before we never had the opportunity to do something like that.
There are beautiful views of sloping land and you don’t feel enclosed by lots of houses. We live on the outskirts of the village where we have the reservoir and woodland on our doorstep, which is great because we have 2 dogs and I like to go walking and running.
There seems to be a very good community feel here and this has been helped by the way they’ve designed the Douglas Meadow. It’s welcoming driving in – you don’t drive straight into a mass of houses; there’s a play area and a nice, green park area, so it feels open and spacious. They’ve managed to retain a lot of existing trees around the edges, so it doesn’t feel stark. The design, layout and quality of the houses here is excellent, and they are all in a nice, soft, green space.
We’re in a three-bedroom semi, which from the front doesn’t look very big, but when you come inside you can see they’ve made the best use of the space. They’ve designed the inside very well, especially the nice landing with the rooms coming off it. Our friends came to visit us at the weekend and they were quite amazed, saying it had been done especially well. We’ve downsized quite considerably and the space really attracted us to the house.
I love the spaciousness of Hunter’s Meadow and how it fits in with the landscape. As you enter, the feeling you get is that it’s not cramped. It’s appealing to look at, and with the way it’s been laid out no one is on top of each other. The town is conveniently in walking distance and has everything I need on a day to day basis; the local area is lovely.
We have the Highlands in the north and Edinburgh in the south, so we’re bang in the middle of both worlds. There’s beautiful scenery around us with rolling hills. The village is a beautiful place. There’s a good school here, with good shops and it’s convenient with the supermarkets in Perth. You can have anything you need in under twenty minutes.
We found a builder that actually seemed to care about the environmental issues – they ticked all the boxes. Hill Top Grange has just got a nice, comfy feel about it with the lovely landscaping and the trees they’ve planted. There is already a nice mix of people with young children and older couples.
A big attraction of moving here was the high school. The closest school has a very good Ofsted rating and that suits us well as the eldest of our two children will be going there next year. We were also happy not to be near any main roads and to be only about five minutes from the shops. Having moved from just down the road, we knew it was well situated.
We know it's going to be quite a small development with just one hundred houses, but the biggest thing for us was the surroundings. There is woodland nearby, and Hill Top Grange was designed in a way that complimented the surrounding area. There’s also a river and there will be a pathway that leads into the woods. It will be nice to take our family down there in the future.
The very first thing that attracted me to Countesswells was the layout, it appealed to me straightaway. There are plenty of trees and green areas so it felt quite spacious and the mixture of styles of houses, together with the way the streets look, made me feel it would be a lovely place to have a home.
I’d previously lived in a flat so buying a new house was a really good move for me, my home is in a small street and having the extra space and especially a garden is great. At the moment there are just the two of us but I’ve a baby on the way so schools were an important part in choosing a new home, there are going to be two new primary schools and a secondary school built in this area in the next few years so that really appealed to me.
Countesswells is a good place for families, it’s got that rural feeling but everything you need is close by. It’s in a pretty, rural area and the forest is nearby. There are little shops and a couple of pubs in the Kingswells area and Aberdeen, with all the major attractions, isn’t that far away. I wanted to live in an area that would be a good place to raise my family. It’s somewhere that I can see myself living for sometime to come.
The houses look very smart in the way they are finished off and the brickwork is set with different types of stone so they fit in nicely. The gardens are neat and it’s all very clean and tidy. With lots of parking, there aren’t many cars on the street and that adds to the look of the place. People may go past, or there may be children playing outside, but inside my house there isn’t really any noise at all.
It’s very well insulated. I love the bathrooms; they are particularly well done with the high specification of the vanity and the mirrors, and the finish of it all with the tiles. The house is just the right size; even the garden is just big enough, so there isn’t too much to upkeep. Whether it’s my neighbours across the road or the neighbours that walk down the street, everybody seems to say “hello” here. That’s just what you want moving somewhere new. It’s easy to settle in with nice people around you.
We absolutely love our new house on Monarch’s Rise; it’s light, airy, warm and spacious. When we moved in all of our neighbours were very welcoming. They asked how we were getting on and how we liked our new home. A lot of them were new in as well, so they shared their experience of moving in with us. They said that if there was anything we needed, we could just give them a shout.
