‘If you are looking for a new home in a lovely area then Palladian Gardens is a good choice, there are a lot of styles to choose from so there’s something for everyone.’
‘Palladian Gardens has been well designed and there’s a feeling of space around.’
When you wonder around a lot of estates, the houses tend to be very close together and everything looks the same, but the first thing that hits you at Palladian Gardens is that there are so many different house designs. I think the homes are good value as well and there are a lot of different price ranges, so there’s something to suit everyone. Just over the way from me. there’s a circular green space which will be a nice feature when it’s completed. The development is in a lovely area, about half a mile away from the nearest village and that has all the amenities you’d need, it’s also a nice walk for the dog. On the other side, there’s the railway station so it’s very easy to take a train into Chester or Liverpool. The motorway is also a couple of minutes away and all in all, when you weigh these things up, the location is excellent.
‘The ladies in the sales office were fantastic and helped in any way they could.’
I moved from a larger home and when it came to selling that I had a few difficulties and became a bit downhearted; thankfully the sales ladies understood the situation and they helped out as much as they could. They worked so hard in my interests and it was a good thing to know they were on my side. When I moved in, there were a few snagging issues, you’d expect these with a new home, but all I had to do was call and within a couple of days, things were sorted out. I really couldn’t have asked for anything better than that.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because I’ve been looked after so well by both the sales and site teams and my wife and I are very happy to be living here in our new home.
Mr Henry Roberts - Palladian Gardens
“We love it, it’s the best decision we’ve ever made.”
“We used to live quite close to Manchester, and now we’re forty minutes away into the country.”
We decided to move here because we had a recommendation from friends who’d moved a year before us. We were able to see their house and they bigged up Stewart Milne Homes to us. We both grew up with a lot going on around us in our lives and we didn’t know what it would be like living Spen View, but now we’re here we love how quiet it is. It’s nice to live somewhere peaceful and have the option to go back to the city when we want to.
“The moving process was really easy.”
They were very helpful from beginning to end. Karen and the team explained things to us, and we had regular updates. When we were picking parts of the design out, they were really helpful. They gave us good feedback of what looked good and what went together for choices like tiling and flooring.
“They gave us a Premier package so when we moved in all we had to do is put away our personal stuff and clothes.
We’re happy with the all-round quality of the house. The outside appearance is great, and we’re happy with the spacious rooms, particularly the bedrooms with their built-in wardrobes. As ours came furnished, they included a furniture pack with beds, settees, carpets and blinds. I know people who have had to get their own carpets, and that’s quite an expensive extra.
“The whole estate just looks a lot nicer than anywhere we imagined we were going to live.”
We love where we are. It’s a nice, new estate that’s near enough to the shops, but far enough away so it’s quiet. There’s quite a variety of houses with different styles and sizes, and the area is one of the best things about it with a lot of walks in the fields around us. They’ve even provided walkways to a few of them through the estate.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because of the service we had and the quality of the houses. It's how much you get for what you're paying.
Mr Peter De Lury and Miss Rebecca Hardy -
“I’ve always lived in towns and cities and Letham Views much more peaceful.”
“It has a very rural feel to it.”
My home sits on the top side of the development and Letham Views works its way down a hill so you’re looking over it and you can see views of the fields and hills really far into the distance. There are plans to put in a couple of bridges and some play parks so it will be really nice when it’s done.
“Living in a small town with a small population this side of East Lothian means it’s a lot quieter.”
It makes a difference from living closer Edinburgh or out towards West Lothian where it’s more heavily populated. I also have the benefit of being close to the coast and fairly close to the city as well.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because the buying process was easy and effortless; Ian was brilliant.
Mr Sean Macfarlane - Letham Views
“Stewart Milne Homes houses are different to other builders; they have a nice aesthetic.”
“Instead of using cladding on the front of the houses, they’ve used their own signature stone.”
I really like the look. Although all the houses are different and there are many different models, the common theme of the light brown stones of mixed sizes is reminiscent of a dry cast wall. That makes them stand out in comparison to other new build homes.
“It’s really nice to come into a fresh house you’ve been able to put your own stamp on.”
We enjoyed picking and choosing features like the cupboards, the work surface, the door handles and the flooring. The appliances they provide are good quality as well. It’s nice when you know they’ve used a good brand name.
There are a lot of places to be.
We have nice, green spaces for kids to play on in the summer and there are convenient, wide paths running through the estate keeping everything connected. As part of the wider development we have access to a play park, and we’re near to a country park we can enjoy our time in as well.
“There’s good community spirit here.”
When we were going through the sales process there were always a lot of events going on. Now that we’ve moved in the management company, Sterling Developments, also seems to be quite involved. They have a background in fruit farming, so they recently put a call out to everyone to say we could apply for a fruit tree to be planted in our front garden.
“Now that everyone has moved in, there is still continuing support.”
We know that we can always go back to Stewart Milne Homes if anything goes wrong. Our Site Manager has been really good with follow-ups to make sure we have everything as we’d expect it. With any new house or second-hand home, things will come up. It’s having someone to go to about it.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because the development design is excellent with good garden space and lovely public areas, and it's a very good family home. I've been very impressed with everybody with their good, clear communication. It's gone smoothly from start to finish.
Mrs Fiona Weir -
“Oswald Court is well planned, making good use of the space that’s there, and is extremely convenient for transport.”
“The spot they picked was well chosen for both people on their own and people with young families.”
My home is situated at one end of the development. The ground around the flats has been landscaped and new trees have been planted to complement the mature trees already there. There are very good schools around for children and a number of small shops close by. I’m within an easy distance of Sainsbury’s supermarket too. The location they’ve chosen makes it very easy to get anywhere by bus or train, and they’ve made sure to plan in enough parking space here as well.
“My flat is as I saw it on the plan; it’s to the quality and standard they said it would be.”
The three blocks of flats are well constructed and very well designed. The way they’ve organised them in a U-shape means that they are filled with a lot of natural light throughout. Each flat has a veranda giving us our own private outside space. Inside, I have every convenience I need.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because I've had a very good service from them and the quality of the flat is very good.
Miss Ellen Hamilton -
“Dargavel Village II is very well thought out; as a shared surface development you’re aware you’re in a family space that kids will be in.”
“It’s aesthetically pleasing outside of the house, and a lot of other developers wouldn’t put money towards doing that.”
There are grassed areas, plenty of areas for kids to play or kick a ball around, and places they can use their bikes. There are lots of walks and cycle paths to get out and about on and enjoy the outside space. The streets are designed in a clever way with soft curves and trees that that naturally slow traffic down, so you feel safe. They’ve spent a lot of time positioning the houses, so everyone has a nice view and there are a lot of local amenities that have been put in recently like a Sainsbury’s, a barber and a café. It’s very good for families.
“It’s very good value for money.”
My house is very functional, and I didn’t have to pay a lot of money to get it that way. My sister is buying off another developer. She came around to see my home and she was surprised how many things were included in the price. We got additional lighting points, additional TV points and plenty of sockets to make it a practical and flexible place to live in.
“The Stewart Milne Homes staff have been really good from buying the house to moving in.”
It worked exactly how we wanted it to. Since we moved into the house Greg, the Site Manager, has been fantastic. He's always been a phone call away and he's dealt with any problems or queries we had immediately. We bought the house knowing we would be on a building site, but at the same time they made it as easy as possible and they have certainly worked around us rather than us working around them. They’ve been very courteous.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because I've been happy with the process.
Austin Reid - Dargavel Village
“Charleston is the whole package.”
“Before moving we had apprehension about new buildings in terms of whether they would be finished and completed to a high standard.”
We’ve been in over two months and we’re happy that everything has been done to a high standard, and we’ve had support around us for any snagging issues. People expect new builds to be quite small, but we have plenty of space. We were blown away by the size of the bathroom, kitchen and living room. In terms of insulation, coming from an older home we used to hear quite a lot from the neighbours, and we don’t hear anything here. We have a beautiful new home with lots of space that’s comfortable to live in.
“It’s very family friendly, homely and quite original.”
The layout of the development is brilliant. We have good access to a park across the street and there are nice, wide roads. On our street some of the houses are timber fronted and some are brick, so there are different styles, whereas with the other developers around us the streets just look like carbon copies. It’s very friendly here and we’re very happy.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because doing a part exchange only made it more comfortable for us as we had no stress trying to sell our home. We moved in without any worries or concerns and it was such an easy process.
Mrs Colette Feeney - Charleston
“The location of Spen View just couldn’t get any better. It’s on the edge of the countryside and an idyllic place to live.”
“I love living in a more rural area; it’s just what I was looking for so I had no reservations about buying here.”
As I speak, I overlook farmland and can see sheep and cows as well as a farmhouse and farmers fields in the distance. It’s quite a small estate and not overpopulated so there’s not a great deal of traffic and that makes it’s a really peaceful place to live. There are no 3 properties the same on the development and no matter what road I go down, there’s no uniformity and that’s something I really like. My wife is thinking about retiring in a few years and I think this is going to give us a really nice place to be.
“Although Spen View is in the countryside, everything you could need is close by so living here would suit a variety of age groups.”
I’ve family who live around 4.5 miles away so I knew what the area would be like before I moved here. Being on this side of Congleton, which is only 2.5 miles away, it’s the more rural side and gave me just what I was looking for. If I travel another .25 miles there are local restaurants, local shops and shopping facilities. A playground is just about to be put in so that will be a great addition and something my grandchildren will enjoy when they come to visit. A local pub/restaurant/indoor soft play area is about 150 yards from my front door and the high school is very close by as well. There’s even a lake a mile way which is an ideal place to go for a walk.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because the location is wonderful, I’ve got the best of both worlds, peace and quiet at home but shops and restaurants just a short distance away.
Mr Daren Bell -
“The residents said Monarchs Rise was a neighbourly, quiet and cosy place to be and that gave me the confidence to buy here.”
“It was great to hear how happy people were with their new homes.”
When I was considering buying my home, I met a few of the residents who were very friendly and who introduced themselves. They told me how they enjoyed living here and how happy they were with their houses, they said it was a very neighbourly, quiet and cosy place to be which reassured me and it felt the right place to buy.
“Monarchs Rise feels a bit different from the usual new build developments, it’s got lots of character.”
It’s a very modern looking estate and all the houses have a different finish. It’s not all mono block and white like other developments and I think it’s got lots of character. It also feels very green and fresh and as well as being clean and quiet, the development is quite private.
“I’d previously lived in a city so it’s been refreshing to move to such a friendly area.”
The town is really nice and there’s lots more there than I first realised. The mainstream shops are nearby and even the people working in them are friendly, they say hi and have a little chat which is lovely. I’ve not been used to that and it’s something I welcome very much. There are lots of places to take children out and there are the open spaces for those who like to walk their dogs, it’s feels very safe here.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because I’m very pleased with my new home, it’s in such a friendly place and Stewart Milne Homes has been very attentive to my needs.
Mrs Amanda Thomas - Monarch's Rise
“Den View is a good place to bring up a family.”
“It’s just the right size and it’s in a good area.”
It’s not a massive estate, it’s limited to fifty new homes, and all of the houses are nicely finished and with good views. Within a ten-minute walk we have access to excellent nursery facilities and schools and that’s going to be ideal for us in the spring and summer.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because I've had a good experience so far and the house is good quality.
Mr Craig Stevenson -
“For my first home, my house is everything I’d hoped for.”
“It’s the perfect size for me and everything was included.”
It was nice that I didn’t have to worry about getting carpets or upgrading tiles and worktops. I had built-in wardrobes as well, so that massively cut off the price of putting more stuff in the house. As it’s disability accessible, the doors, stairs and hallway are a lot wider, so in the future if I have friends or family over who need that access it will be easy for me to host them.
“There’s nothing I’d change, it’s just perfect.”
The houses are beautiful. They’re different to what I’ve seen before, with very aesthetically pleasing colours and build. It’s all really well thought out and the location is great for me too. I’m not too far from where my family lives and I have a great commute to work. It’s central to Manchester and Liverpool so it’s very easy.
“I’d always been told by people who’d bought new builds to expect delays and expect things wrong with the house, but it wasn’t an issue for me.”
From beginning to end, it’s been brilliant. I was told a date and the date didn't move, so all my expectations were met. Any snags were dealt with quickly and they’ve all been really helpful.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because there was no change in my move in date from day one, and for the price everything is included. Everything is top specification and the people on site have been amazing; they sorted everything out so quickly. I was very pleased.
Miss Millie Henderson -
“Letham Views is a nice, quiet place to live in.”
“I’m looking forward to the surrounding area being finished and seeing what it will look like completed.”
I was happy with the quick time frame of getting in, and it was good to have regular contact from them throughout. Letham Views itself suits my lifestyle. It’s peaceful, and there are parks around us, so we have a lot of places to walk. There are also plenty of shops that aren’t too far away.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes... because they were easy to deal with.
Ms Michelle Hook - Letham Views
“Calderwood II is a very friendly, beautiful area that caters for everything we’re looking for at this stage of our lives.”
“We didn’t want to live in a busy, built up area.”
We did have concerns about what it would be like moving out of the city and into a smaller, rural community, but with such good access to Edinburgh, either driving, or going by bus or train, commuting is easy. We can get away from the city and enjoy more relaxing time with the family. In fact, we barely go into the city anymore.
“We’re in a beautiful setting, right next to the country park.”
It was a big selling point for us when we viewed the house and had a walk through the park. They’ve opened up a lot of pathways from the development to go into it, so it’s great to get out and about with the family. They’ve also planned for a gym and a gastropub in the future, so there will be a lot to do.
“We have two young kids and it’s the perfect environment for raising children.”
We wanted to move somewhere with a lot of people who, like us, were also raising families. Stewart Milne Homes has worked very hard to create a nice, friendly community. They’ve had planning permission to build a school, and we have access to a little community garden where kids learn to grow vegetables. There’s also a café right in the heart of the development, a children’s park right around the corner. They’ve provided a large, green area where the kids can play football. They can safely play outside because the whole estate is designed with cul-de-sacs and narrow, winding streets so cars can’t race around them. The way it’s done, even the fencing in the gardens encourages you to speak to your neighbours, so it’s a very social place to live.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...because the experience I’ve had with the sales team has been good, and the standard of the house is nice.
Mr David Bell -
“Living in Charleston, Cove you have a good balance.”
“It’s handy for the city centre and we can see the beach from our house.”
Years ago, my parents owned a Stewart Milne home in Glasgow, so I knew about them as a developer before, and as we had friends in the area we bought here on impulse. I work in the city, so it’s convenient and well connected by public transport. We also have good access to amenities like local supermarkets, hairdressers and convenience stores on the development, so we don’t have to go far. The fact we’re on the coast and by the beach means it’s handy for walking the dog and it’s really good for relaxing.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes... because the whole process has been easy.
Mr Adam Fairley - Charleston
“If you are looking for a new home that’s easy to heat and maintain and one which is in a very good area, then buying from Stewart Milne Homes at Dunnottar Park is an excellent choice.”
“It’s a nice, family friendly development that has a bit of an exclusive feel to it.”
Dunnottar Park is a modern development with grassy areas around which are appealing to the eye. It’s in a good location and as it’s central to the town it’s very easy to walk to the shops and train station. At the same time the development almost feels like an exclusive housing estate because it’s not in a congested housing area but set on its own. There’s quite a family feel here and as there are a variety of house styles there’s something to suit everyone. I’ve gone for a mid terrace house, that suited what I wanted, and I think because it’s up with the latest standards, it’s going to be very easy to heat and to maintain in the longer term.
“The support and care from the people working here has been second to none.”
Fiona and Darren the site manager have both been absolutely fantastic. Their communication has been good and the support they’ve given has been great. They’ve checked I’m okay and if I’ve had any issues or concerns then I know I can speak to them and they will act on any little thing I’ve raised. They’ve just got good people skills.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because I’ve got a new home that’s going to be easy for me to maintain and the people working here that I’ve met along the way have been so helpful and lovely to deal with.
Ms Claire Petrie - Dunnottar Park
“We’re very happy.”
We moved from an apartment, and the way the house was set up made it easier for us.
We love the built-in wardrobes and the utility room, so things are hidden away. The tiles in the bathroom are a high standard of quality and the oven and fridge freezer are a higher specification than I’ve seen before. Compared to other developments around Congleton, Spen View is a better standard. It’s also cleverly designed. We knew Congleton had issues getting in and out, but because of where they’ve positioned it, we have easy access through the motorways and main roads.
“You’re always going to have concerns about how you’ll be treated afterwards.”
The guys on site here have been great; nothing is too much trouble for them. In the three months we’ve been living here they’ve been very keen to help us get any small things sorted out.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because of the design of the development, the specification of what they put in and how they put it in. The after care provided was pretty good too.
Mr Richard Tyler -
“We’re not under each other’s feet anymore, like we felt we were in our old house.”
“One of the reasons we moved here was the children; the intention was that the house would be large enough for them to grow up here.”
It’s a five-bedroom house that works for all of us. We have a lot of living area and it’s set up in zones, so everyone can do something different at the same time. We love having a gigantic garden, and the practicality of having a utility room. Before, I used to work from home using my oldest lad’s bedroom. Now, he has a room with an en-suite and I can use the spare room as a study. The family area in the kitchen means the boys can do things like crafts while we’re preparing food or doing the dishes. The dining room is quite large so we can eat or watch TV there too. With eight TV points in the house there’s a lot of flexibility, so if you want to play a board game and someone wants to watch TV, they can just go in another room. Some homes look amazing but aren’t practical. This is both.
“Hill Top Grange is a nice, large family estate.”
Location was important to us as we already lived in the area and the children were in schools here. We found Northwich a safe place without any problems, and my wife was born here. Most of the houses are four-bedroom and the play ground here sets the tone for the place. It looks lovely with the landscaping and mature trees, and they’ve planted trees in front of most houses so they will mature to look attractive in the long term, softening the whole look of the area. We’re at the edge of the development so we’re next to the woods where there are 100-foot trees. With only one other house behind us that we can easily see it’s quite private. There are people just living here, so we don’t hear any anti-social noise. At night it’s so quiet we can even hear an owl in the woods.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because everything I've mentioned is magnified. We don't have any real issues at all, just little niggly things that will get sorted out in time. We bought a new house from another developer fifteen years ago and the service we’ve had here is better.
Mr Nicholas Bolton -
“It’s in the attention to detail.”
There’s a bit of a country atmosphere here on the outskirts of East Calder village. The houses are attractive, and the streets are nicely paved. It’s well kept by a professional maintenance company we contribute to the cost of, and that means that everything is neat and tidy. The front gardens have been planted well and look lovely with the grass cut, and the shrubs trimmed. The homes are well laid out and well-designed too. I love that our home has an en-suite master bedroom and en-suite second bedroom; it’s great if we have guests. Also, all the houses have driveways that take two cars side by side. Although in Britain most people park on the streets, we don’t have that problem here and driving around isn’t difficult. Everything is well thought out and looked after. The Sales Executive that we dealt with, Dawn Lawrence, was amazing. Her knowledge and prompt replies to our queries made the purchasing experience a very pleasant one. She also assisted us in various matters after we took ownership.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because of the excellent service we received.
Mr Michael Heys -
“Dargavel Village is vibrant, elegant and it has character.”
“They created a real community.”
The whole development is very well kept, and it’s all very easy on the eye. The houses are excellent quality; they are clean, fresh and very, very modern. I think they have a certain element of class in the small things like the brickwork, to the way the driveways are laid out to the turf. With the rivers behind us it’s almost picture perfect. We’re proud of our home, and we still get the same feeling walking through our front door that we’re in a nice, well-kept house.
“We had concerns buying a property off plan as we couldn’t see the finished article.”
We were concerned with how it was going to look as we bought one of the first houses of this type. We were worried about the potential snagging of the house, how the brickwork would look and how the rooms were going to stack up. When we saw it, it certainly met or exceeded those expectations in real life.
“We’re far enough secluded to be in a rural location, but not far from the urban life of the city centre.”
We’re in a nice, quiet village with grass areas and lakes, and there’s countryside around us with farmland and walkways that stretch for miles. It’s nice to have a bit of nature around you, and it’s rare to have it where we are in Glasgow. Ingliston Country Club is also behind us with the equestrian centre. We’re fifteen to twenty minutes from the city centre, but in more of a prestigious place with a very low crime rate and zero hassle.
“With a lot of developers, it feels like it’s easy for them to just walk away from you, but Mark Fotheringham made our life a lot easier.”
I would say to any first-time buyers like us to pick your builder carefully because there is after care needed in any new home. For me that’s where a builder earns their stripes. Mark goes above and beyond, and if there is any snagging, or I have any concerns, he answers his phone. If he isn’t available, he calls back at the next earliest convenient time. He makes sure any work is carried out in a reasonable or exceptional time frame to an exceptional standard, so you feel he’s on our side. Stewart Milne Homes isn’t working to timescales. They do have seven- and twenty-eight-day check-ins, but you don’t feel pressured. We’re out of our twenty-eight days so Mark doesn’t have to be in contact now, but he chooses to be. That’s a huge part of how we feel about our place.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because of the quality of the actual build and the fact that they cater for and include things like the kitchen and vanity mirrors. You get a lot included for the price, which is very, very good specification.
Mr Jonathan Rawlings - Dargavel Village
It’s great to live in a development overlooking the Forth, and only a couple of minutes from the main motorway to Edinburgh.
“Although ours was one of the first houses to be built, it’s looking like it’s going to be quite a nice development.”
The way they’ve planned it we’ll have a square courtyard in the middle, paved around the edges and mono-blocked, with landscaping surrounding it and a little grass area in the middle. That will all make it a beautiful place to be.
“The houses are well built.”
You hear a lot about snagging issues, but we haven’t had anything major and it’s all been dealt with quite quickly. Even when they’re working on the on-going build, they’ve planned the layout so there isn’t much going on around our house at all.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because they seem to have a good build, and you get a lot of stuff as standard. The Site Manager here is very helpful, and nothing has been too big of an issue for him.
Mr Alasdair Cook -
